SEATTLE – The Bainbridge High varsity boys lacrosse team came up short against Seattle Academy Saturday in the Spartans’ first game on the road.
The final score was 8-7.
The conference match loss left the team with a 1-2 overall season record.
The hosts led 1-0 in the first quarter, but BHS stepped up their game in the second and gained enough ground to whittle the lead 3-2.
In the second half, Seattle Academy again began ahead, leading 4-2 in the third quarter, but the Bainbridge boys were no slouches and the fourth was a 2-all affair.
Seattle Academy remains the top-ranked team in Metro DI.
Goals were scored by Ben Biggers (one), Aaron Jumpa (one), Ben LaRoche (one), Nate Marx (one), Max Oden (two) and Max Wickline (one).
BHS goalie Charlie Shrout managed six saves for 14 shots for an approximate save percentage of 43. It was the freshman goalie’s worst save percentage so far this season.
Andrew McCall had 12 saves in goal for Seattle Academy.
The team will play at home at 6 p.m. Friday, March 27 against Centennial.
