Jack Judsen Edward Ring, 74, of Silverdale passed away Aug. 16, 2014 after a long fight with cancer.
Jack was born on March 16, 1940 in Oregon to Hazel J. (King) and Ellsworth Ring. He would later be raised by Hazel and Otto Schaffer.
Jack was educated in the North Kitsap School District and went on to serve in the Navy. Jack worked for Sound Publishing and retired after 19 years. He also worked in a saw mill in Longview for many years.
Jack enjoyed camping, fishing, socializing with his friends and the staff at Crista Shores, spending time with his cat Bandit and putting together puzzles.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Francis V. Schaffer and Loren R. Schaffer; one sister, Beatrice R. (Ring) Larreau; and one niece, Sheryl L. Schaffer.
His memory will live on with one brother, Kent Schaffer; sister, Candice Jernigan (Randy) of Silverdale; and numerous five nieces, three nephews and many special friends at Crista Shores.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 in the Linder Room at Crista Shores in Silverdale.
