Ruth Arlene Anderson, age 86, died April 29 at Harbor House in Poulsbo.
She was born Jan. 1, 1916 in Leonard, N.D. to Delbert and Mae Walters.
She and her husband Elwood lived in Enderlin, N.D., where he worked for the railroad.
She was the church organist for 27 years, a member of the “Lady Trainmen” drill team and the local Avon Lady for 29 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in 1973, and nurtured a love of learning throughout her life.
The couple moved to Seattle in 1975, where they managed the Galleon Apartments on Queen Anne Hill.
She retired at age 84 from apartment managing when they moved to Port Orchard.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Elwood Anderson of Port Orchard; two daughters, Marvel Loria Sandger and her husband, Bjorn of Bainbridge Island, and Jean Storelee and her husband Dennis, Port Orchard; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at First Lutheran Church in Port Orchard.
