Darlene Shawley

December 2, 1930 – January 25, 2011

      Darlene Shawley passed away January 25, 2011 of heart failure. Darlene is survived by her husband of 34 years, Gene Shawley, her six children, Bobbi (Rich) Bushee of Bainbridge Island, Connie (Matt) Fidgeon of Burien, Joy (Greg) Loomis of Poulsbo, Mike Chavanu of Suquamish, Dan (Debbie) Chavanu of Ravensdale, WA, Chris Chavanu of Poulsbo and her three granddaughters and five grandsons and four step-grandsons and two step granddaughters and one great grandson and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

      Darlene was born December 2, 1930 in North Platte, NE to Charley and Amelia Brown, both deceased. She is preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. In 1951, she moved to Bainbridge Island with her family and lived there until 2007 when she moved to Poulsbo. Darlene enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and attending Cross Sound Church. She loved traveling, crafts and reading.

      A memorial service will be held at Island Church, 9624 Sportsman Club Road, Bainbridge Island, on Saturday February 12 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Darlene may be made to Seattle Children’s Hospital or charity of your choice.
