Marian Claire Wiley Ivancich, age 81, died July 19. She was born Dec. 24, 1922 in Seattle to George and Edith Wiley.
She graduated from Broadway High School and the University of Washington, where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority.
She worked at the University Hospital as a dietician until her marriage in 1946 to Henry Ivancich.
She was a lifelong resident of Seattle and Bainbridge Island, where she spent her summers as a youth. In 1961, she moved her family to the island permanently. Her home was open to all and she enjoyed nothing more than being surrounded by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry. She is survived by her six children — Carolyn (Nino Benedetti), Barbara (John Johnston), George (Randi), Stephanie, Steven and Andrea; and seven grandchildren — Nick, Natalie, Cristina, Tino, Giulia, Marco and Tim.
A memorial gathering will be held 2 p.m. Aug. 9 at the family home on Bainbridge. Information: 842-6484. All who knew and loved her are welcome.
