Former Bainbridge Island resident Stanley Milford Price of Poulsbo died Aug. 6. He was 79.
Price was born to Mary Lucinda and Robert Marshall Price on June 22, 1924 in Govan.
He married Bertha Thompson Feb. 2, 1950 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.
Price graduated from high school in Wilbur in 1943.
He worked as an auto mechanic and a farmer on Bainbridge Island and in eastern Washington.
He served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific theater from 1943-1945.
He enjoyed reading, gardening, playing pinochle and fixing things.
He is survived by his wife Bertha Price of Poulsbo; sons John Marshall Price (Judi Anne Burch) of Indianola and Stanley Michael Price of Vancouver; daughters Carol Anne Price (John G. Townsend) of Poulsbo and Judy Louise (Michael Stephen) Stebbins of Troutdale, Ore.; brother Dale (Darlene) Price of Electric City; sisters Ruth (Woody) Thurlow of Downey, Calif., Peggy Johnson of Burns, Ore., Wanda (Lawrence) Flood of Pullman and Martha Nordhagen of Issaquah; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
A family gathering was held in Poulsbo.
