Felomina Flores Madayag Salanga

Bainbridge Island resident Felomina Flores Madayag Salanga, age 55, died May 7 at the University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle.

She was born Oct. 17, 1947 in Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija, The Philippines.

She came to Bainbridge Island in 1973 and married Toribio P. Madayag that fall. Mr. Madayag preceded her in death in 1981.

In 1984, she married Maurice Salanga, Sr. who died in 2001.

Felomina worked at Bainbridge Manufacturing and was a busy homemaker. She enjoyed being involved in the Filipino-American Community on the island as well as with St. Cecilia Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing.

She is survived by two sons, Alex F. Madayag and Mark F. Salanga, both of Bainbridge Island; four brothers, Alvin A. Flores, of Bainbridge, Cornelio A. Flores of Manila, The Philippines, Romeo A. Flores of Cuyapo, The Philippines and Florentino A. Flores of Seattle; three sisters, Lydia A. Flores, Loreta A. Vong Flores and Elena A. Flores, all of Seattle; and numerous step-children, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. May 10 at Kass Funeral Home. The Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. May 11 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 p.m. May 12 at St. Cecilia, with burial to follow at Seabold Cemetery.
