Longtime Bainbridge Island resident, Georgia Moore Foster, age 89, died at her home March 17.
She was born in Ayden, NC July 5, 1912, the daughter of Churchill and Venetia (Baker) Moore.
She received her degree in education from Eastern Carolina University, Greensboro, NC.
She retired from the Bainbridge Island School District after teaching more than 12 years at both Commodore and Wilkes elementary schools.
She was an active member of Eagle Harbor Congregational Church and enjoyed playing bridge.
She is survived by son Thomas Foster, Issaquah; two sisters, Marie Pittman and Sallie Davis, both of Goldsboro, NC and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Foster, in 1985.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. March 23, at Eagle Harbor Congregational Church.
