Jack Oliver Johanson

Former Bainbridge Island resident Jack Oliver Johanson, age 79, died Dec. 1, 2003 at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was born May 18, 1924 on Bainbridge Island, son of John and Anna (Lindell) Johanson.

Following graduation from Bainbridge Island High School, he became an apprentice machinist at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He spent his entire career as a machinist, retiring in 1988 from the Rowe Company in Ballard.

He enjoyed fishing and boating with his friends.

He is survived by one daughter, Annette Johanson, Suquamish; one son, Justin Johanson; and one brother, George Johanson, Seattle.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 6 at Port Blakely Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kass Funeral Home.
