An 18-year-old Bainbridge Island woman was arrested outside the Teen Center Thursday evening, wanted for allegedly selling marijuana to a police informant at an earlier date.

The arrest stemmed from two earlier drug-related incidents. The woman was stopped by police for a traffic violation on Dec. 30, and found with eight baggies of marijuana in her possession, Bainbridge Police Detective Scott Weiss said. Drug paraphernalia and cash also were seized.

The suspect admitted that the marijuana was packaged to sell, Weiss said, and that most of her transactions involved Bainbridge middle and high school students.

The suspect allegedly sold marijuana to a police informant last June, but was not arrested at that time as the drug investigation was ongoing.

But after the Dec. 30 incident, police secured a court warrant to seize the woman’s vehicle, a silver Geo Storm, and officers had been looking for her since that time. She was spotted parked next to the Teen Center on the high school grounds at about 7:50 p.m. Thursday and was arrested without incident.

She did not have drugs when arrested, police said.

She was booked into the county jail and held on $50,000 bail, and was to be charged in Kitsap County Superior Court Friday afternoon. She faces felony charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, stemming from the June incident.
