Everyone wins at Hoopfest

The big winner was the Bainbridge Island School District at the 11th annual Hoopfest for BEST March 6. Eighty-five teams from grades three to 12 competed in the 3-on-3 basketball tournament on the Bainbridge High School campus. The tournament raises funds for the Bainbridge Education Suport Team. More than $11,000 was raised through entry fees, concessions and a silent auction.

The tournament raises funds for the Bainbridge Education Suport Team. More than $11,000 was raised through entry fees, concessions and a silent auction.

Proceeds benefit the BEST staff development focus area, filling the void created by state cuts to public school teacher development; enrichment grants to help and encourage teachers as they develop unique and creative ways to teach our children; and the BEST Summer Institute, a week-long staff development workshop.
