The Bainbridge Performing Arts Theatre School Winter Showcase will again grace the stage — with two shows for the price of one — at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 28 and Thursday, March 30.
The first production, “Bainbridge to Broadway,” is the annual student musical revue in which students, grades 2-8, are cast as a group of aspiring Broadway stars, explained BPA director of education Liz Ellis. Finding themselves saddled with the challenging task of babysitting a group of children, they spend the evening spinning wild tales pulled from their favorite musical stories.
Next up, teens from BPA’s Teen Intensive program will perform “The Tempest,” one of Shakespeare’s most magical, mysterious and cerebral works.
“These students still manage to blow me away and set a new bar with every performance,” Ellis said. “Roxanne Foster’s choreography and the student’s performance of it will delight and impress in ‘Bainbridge to Broadway,’ and you’ll be amazed at the comedic abilities of ‘The Tempest’ cast.”
Tickets, $10 for adults and $5 for seniors, youth, students, military and teachers, may be purchased online at www.bainbridgeperformingarts.org, by phone at 206-842-8569 or in person at BPA (200 Madison Ave. North).
BPA box office hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and one hour prior to each performance.
