Applications are now being accepted for the 2017 JAY Fund grant cycle.

The Bainbridge Island Parks Foundation established the Jay Abbott Youth Activity (JAY) Fund in memory of Jay Abbott, the beloved island mentor who died tragically in a mountain bike accident in the Grant Forest while coaching the Bainbridge Island Mountain Bike Club.

Abbott enjoyed skiing, cycling and sailing throughout his life, and shared his passion with others, especially youth.

The JAY Fund supports grants that focus on improved mentoring and coaching, training of interested volunteers and experiences that build confidence for Bainbridge Island youth in skiing, cycling and sailing related activities.
