Local police chiefs will talk about the issues facing cops today — the opioid epidemic, distracted drivers, human trafficking and more — at an upcoming community education program called “Law Enforcement in the 21st Century: A Kitsap Perspective.”
The program is being presented by the League of Women Voters of Kitsap, and will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 9 at Poulsbo City Hall.
The event is free and open to the public, and promises to be a night of questions and discussion on modern policing.
Special guest speakers include Bainbridge Police Chief Matthew Hamner, Suquamish Tribal Police Chief Mike Lasnier, Kitsap County Sheriff Gary Simpson, Poulsbo Police Chief Dan Schoonmaker, Bremerton Police Chief Steve Strachan and Port Orchard Police Chief Geoffrey Marti.
Poulsbo City Hall is at 200 Moe St. NE.
