SEATTLE – Forever homeward bound.
The Spartans, still thirsting for their first home game, got another great gulp of disappointment last week.
The latest splash of water in the face (or puddles on the playing field) came with a discouraging last-minute cancellation of last Wednesday’s slated game against Bishop Blanchet due to poor home field conditions.
With that first game at home put off yet again, the Bainbridge High varsity baseball team rallied Friday, April 7 and scored a 9-3 win on the road against Ingraham.
The Spartans boast the No. 3 spot in the Metro standings, with a flawless 6-0 conference record so far this year (6-1 overall). Lakeside remains the team to beat (8-1 in conference), with Eastside Catholic nipping at their heels (7-1).
After a brief hiatus for Spring Break, the Spartans hit the road again to play Sequim on Tuesday and were slated to attempt to play at home again against O’Dea Thursday.
