Arts & Humanities Bainbridge celebrates National Poetry Month with the annual Poetry Corners Live reading on Thursday, April 27 at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art.
The evening begins with a reception, light refreshments and a no-host bar at 6 p.m., and the reading at 7 p.m. in the BIMA auditorium. The public is invited.
Winners of this year’s Poetry Corners juried contest will read their poems, and copies of the new chapbook “Expression” will be on sale featuring all winning works.
“This is a chance for our winning poets to present their fine verse in a live setting to friends, family and other local poetry fans,” said Kellie Shannon Elliott, Poetry Month coordinator for Arts & Humanities Bainbridge. “It’s a wonderful way for our community to celebrate local writers.”
The winning poems are currently displayed in storefront windows around town. See www.ahbainbridge.org for poem locations.
