Bainbridge Island School District recently named three new associate principals.

Sean Eaton, Warren Read and Amanda Ward have all been selected as the new associate principals of Bainbridge High School, beginning July 1.

“I am thrilled to shift to this new role at Bainbridge High School where I can continue to support staff in their instructional practice and serve as an advocate for both students and families,” Ward said.

“I look forward to the opportunity of taking on the dual role as CTE director and associate principal,” Eaton said.

Eaton, who earned a degree in natural science and mathematics from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana, also holds a master’s degree in teaching from City University and earned his CTE certificate through OSPI and Central Washington University.

Read will be dividing his time as associate principal of both Sakai Intermediate School and Bainbridge High.

Read began his teaching career at the Everett School District, teaching fifth grade before he earned his master’s in educational administration from Western Washington University. After moving to Kingston, Read joined the Wilkes team as a fourth-grade teacher until 2014.

“As a parent, I benefited from my own sons’ great experiences with the Bainbridge High School program. I am excited to be a part of such a dedicated, talented team of educators,” Read said.

Ward has been working as the dean of students at BHS since mid-December, in addition to serving as an instructional coach and district teacher support specialist this year. Previously, Ward taught in the social studies department from 2001-2016 and served as the social studies department chairwoman for 10 years.
