Winslow Green will be filled with the sounds of swing and Gypsy jazz when Ranger and the Re-Arrangers perform a free concert on the newly refurbished downtown Winslow spot from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 14.
The band will be joined by guest performer Jonathan Doyle.
“Winslow Green is a unique setting [because] we can hold an outdoor concert right in town,” bandleader Ranger Sciacca said. “We’re excited to bring Jonathan’s incredible playing to Bainbridge Island.”
Doyle will play both clarinet and saxophone. He recently relocated to Port Townsend from Chicago, and has performed on stages around the world, including the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and Preservation Hall in New Orleans.
The concert will feature music from Ranger and the Re-Arrangers repertoire of swing standards and traditional Gypsy melodies.
