Charlotte Larson Freeman, a Bainbridge High School junior and longtime local, has joined the Review staff as a summer intern.

Larson Freeman has worked as the Bainbridge High School Key Club’s Bulletin editor for two years now, publishing monthly and bi-monthly newsletters for the community service group.

She also has taken over the newsletters for the high school robotics team, the Spartronics, this past year.

Larson Freeman, 16, will be helping head Key Club as co-president this fall.

While journalism was not always a career Larson Freeman considered, it quickly shot to the front of the line.

“I’m always writing, reading, and asking questions,” Larson Freeman said.

“It’s in my nature; I use it in every aspect of what I do. When I realized I could turn that knack into a career, I jumped at the idea. That’s why I’m thrilled to be at the Review,” she said.

This summer, through Bainbridge Youth Service’s internship program, Larson Freeman will have the chance to shadow reporters and write articles while receiving a peek at the inner workings of a newsroom.

“Review readers: Get ready. Charlotte’s been here just a few days and she’s already moving quick on a bunch of great stories,” said Review editor Brian Kelly.

Larson Freeman is a swimmer on the high school team and also enjoys getting outdoors and traveling. Recently returned from a trip to the Grand Canyon, she often hikes and camps. And when she’s not outside, Larson Freeman loves creating art and creative writing. Her favorite medium is oil paints.
