Though it’s been just two years since Washington state legalized recreational marijuana, the brief passage of time has seen some historically significant changes occur rapidly.

These and other aspects of this controversial new enterprise will be discussed at the upcoming lecture “Cannabis Washington,” held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13 at Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church (1187 Wyatt Way Northwest).

Featured speakers will include Maria Moses, director and owner of a medical marijuana dispensary and two recreational outlets and Josh Owens, president and co-owner of Sustainnabis Farms, a growing operation in Southwest Washington.

The event moderator is Bruce Barcott, author of the forthcoming book “Weed the People: A Journey Into America’s Legalized Future.”

The conversation will cover the business, legal and entrepreneurial challenges and opportunities of recreational and medicinal marijuana in Washington State.
