Kuhio K. Rosa Travis will perform at the Treehouse Café at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25.
Travis is a born and bred Hawaiian musician from the island of Oahu. In his 23-year-long career, he has performed around the world, ranging from places such as New York, China, the Cook Islands, Israel, Japan and more.
He has the kind of voice and virtuoso playing mainland audiences have become familiar with through legendary Hawaiian exports such as Israel Kamakawiwoʻole.
With his voice and ukulele, Travis has opened up for some big names from the islands, such as Willie K., Anuhea and Kimmie Minor, though his musical influences range globally. When he’s not playing music at Turtle Bay, on the North Shore of Oahu, he spends most of his time learning, writing and/or collaborating with others to expand his musical horizons, he said, often while sitting beneath a mango tree.
Tickets, $15 each, for this 21-and-older show are on sale at www.treehousebainbridge.com.
