Kitsap County: A third of Bainbridge has already voted

More than a third of Bainbridge Island's registered voters cast their ballots before Election Day, according to the Kitsap County Elections Division.

More than a third of Bainbridge Island’s registered voters cast their ballots before Election Day, according to the Kitsap County Elections Division.

County election officials said they received 5,733 ballots from Bainbridge Island as of Monday, Nov. 4. Bainbridge has 17,834 registered voters.

Kitsap County is expected to post election results at 8:15 p.m. Nov. 5.

Subsequent vote tallies will be announced at 5 p.m. each workday if there are sufficient ballots are available to count, election officials said.

The vote tally will continue until the 2013 General Election is certified as official on Nov. 26.

County officials said roughly 153,500 voters are registered to cast ballots in the election.

Turnout is expected to be approximately 50 percent overall in Kitsap County.
