A car crash involving a large deer during the morning commute on Highway 305 on Bainbridge Island has left southbound traffic stalled.
The accident occurred just after 8 a.m. when a sedan heading south on the highway struck a six-point buck.
No one appeared injured in the crash.
The accident left the highway completely blocked, but northbound traffic soon restarted at a slower pace.
Southbound travel was a different story. Cars were backed up for more than a mile on the highway, and some drivers began to turn around and seek alternate routes.
Bainbridge police and the fire department arrived at the scene shortly before 8:30 a.m.
