Sheila Jakubik will continue to serve as president of the Bainbridge Island School District School Board.
Jakubik, who served as president of the board last year, was chosen by the board to continue in that role for the 2018.
At a recent school board meeting, Director Mev Hoberg nominated Jakubik for president and the choice was affirmed by the board on a 4-0 vote.
Director Lynn Smith then nominated Hoberg for the vice president position, which also passed on a 4-0 vote.
Both Jakubik and Hoberg will serve a one-year term as board officers.
District Superintendent Peter Bang-Knudsen will continue to serve as secretary to the board.
“I am honored to be selected by my peers again,” Jakubik said later.
“We are doing important work and I look forward to working with the board, the staff and our community to provide a world class education for our students,” she added.
