FRIDAY, APRIL 27

9:22 a.m. A report of domestic violence brought police to a south end home. They had previously been called to the same address sometime the night before because the resident, an 83-year-old man suffering dementia, had wandered off. He had only recently returned home after a stay at an in-patient facility.

The man’s 26-year-old son led police inside, where his father was lying on the floor near the doorway.

The man’s wife was also there, and told police her husband keeps wanting to leave and becomes angry when she or their son stop him. In trying to force his way past her, she said, her husband stomped on her foot and pushed her against the wall, at which point she called for her son who came to restrain him.

The man was complaining to police of rib pain and paramedics were called to treat him.

The man’s wife said she is now convinced she will have to put her husband in a home, though his previous stay in such a facility made him very unhappy.

The man was taken to Harrison Hospital for evaluation.

MONDAY, APRIL 30

12:30 p.m. While backing out of a parking stall in the lot outside ACE Hardware on High School Road, a 67-year-old Bainbridge man struck the car behind him, which was waiting for a third car to move.

The man had no license and no insurance.
