Scouts Marshall Whittlesey, Alec Stauffer, Sean Lafer, Björn Addington and Garrett Peterson remove unwanted electronic gear from the back of a car Saturday at Bainbridge Island Troop 1496’s annual electronics recycling fundraiser event at First Baptist Church.
The Scouts were helping unload broken and unwanted e-waste in what’s become the troop’s biggest benefit of the year, an island staple for more than a decade now.
Dave James, manager of PC Recycle, said close to eight pallets had been filled by noon Saturday of old computers, printers, televisions and other outdated electronics.
The company had two trucks at the church ready to cart away items dropped off Saturday.
By 1 p.m., two hours before closing, it looked like both would be needed.
