Islanders concerned about the fate of a towering Douglas fir on Miller Road just south of Koura Road by the Grand Forest West have put up signs calling for help in saving the big tree.

The tree has been tagged for removal so roadside improvements can be made for walkers and bicyclists.

Signs say: THIS TREE AND BIKES CAN COEXIST. DO NOT CUT DOWN THIS 150+ YR OLD HEALTHY TREE.
