A pair of 1980s-era slippers featuring President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan sit on a sorting table outside Woodward Middle School on Friday, the first day of drop-offs for the annual Bainbridge Island Rotary Auction & Rummage Sale.
A steady stream of donors lined up Friday to hand off pieces of furniture, clothing, sporting goods and many other odds-and-ends and garage sale-style items to a waiting army of Rotary volunteers.
Drop-offs will be accepted at Woodward Middle School until 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 27.
The big event, now in its 58th year, is 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 30. The auction preview will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 29 (admission is a $2 donation for adults; kids under 18 get in free).
