The Bainbridge Island Dive Club will be represented at Nationals following the club’s recent competition at the 2018 USA Diving Junior Zone F Championships.
Divers from Bainbridge traveled to Mission Viejo, California for the Zone F Championships on June 29 through July 1. Club officials said it was a fantastic competition for the team and the club had a strong showing in all age groups.
Kiernan Liberman qualified to attend Nationals in all three of his events; 1-meter, 3-meter and platform diving. Competing in the boys group (16-18), Liberman placed ninth in 1-meter diving with a score of 402.95, and also ninth in 3-meter diving, with a score of 442.70. On platform, he was eighth with 316.80.
In the girls group (12-13), Elyse Lipton placed 24th in the 1-meter competition (scoring 215.40) and 23rd in the 3-meter (scoring 220.25).
In the boys group (14-15): Brian Taylor placed 14th in 1-meter diving with a score of 264.10 and Henry Sauermann placed 15th with 179.65. In 3-meter diving, Taylor placed 11th (310.95) and Sauermann placed 16th (212.35).
