The Bainbridge Island Visually Impaired Persons Support Group will welcome guest speaker John Sheahan to the group’s meeting next week.

Sheahan, from the Washington State Department of Services for the Blind, will talk about his realm of expertise — technology — and how it can help VIPs.

VIP members are encouraged to bring their portable tech devices. Volunteers will also be on hand with one-on-one help with assistive apps, if needed.

The group will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8 at the Bainbridge Public Library.
