Audrey Lane and Ilen Halogram, the duo behind the immersive I AM HALO audio/visual production, will lead a four-day filmmaking class for kids and teenagers from Monday, Aug. 20 through Thursday, Aug. 23 at their island studio.

According to the instructors, students will learn film etiquette and language, storytelling techniques, how to create a storyboard, lighting and camera placement concepts, set dressing and acting on their way to completing one short film to be edited and published online.

Lane and Halogram brought I AM HALO to Rolling Bay Hall in in April 2017. The show merged auditory and visual stimulation with more traditional performance art — dancing, aerial choreography and martial arts — to create a unique, synesthetic experience. They have since played at the performance art festival “The ARTery” at Capitol Theater in Olympia, and their first European tour.

The cost to attend the workshop is $375. The course is described as being appropriate for those in fifth through 12th grade. Students will be divided into teams based on age.
