“Wonder” (2017) is the latest film on tap as part of the ongoing Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District summer film program Movies in the Park, and will to shown at dusk (seating begins at 8 p.m.) Friday, Aug. 24.
Light concessions will be available.
In the film: A 10-year-old boy with a facial deformity attends school for the first time when he begins the fifth grade. With the support of his parents, he learns how to make friends and adjust to his new environment.
It was based on the 2012 novel of the same name by R. J. Palacio, and stars Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, Jacob Tremblay, Mandy Patinkin and Daveed Diggs.
