The third annual community tailgate party will celebrate the Bainbridge High School football team’s first home game of the year, from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7 in the parking lot of Masonic Lodge (across the street from BHS).

The Spartans will face off against the Olympic High School Trojans at 7 p.m., their second game of the year following the season debut, on the road against North Kitsap Saturday, Sept. 1.

“This is an exciting time for Bainbridge football,” said BHS Head Coach Jeff Rouser. “We are coming off a winning season and have all of the elements of a great football season — a talented group of players and senior leaders, parent and community support, and an amazing group of coaches, trainers and managers.

“We’re ready to play some football.”

Bainbridge Football Boosters are inviting the entire island to the party.

“Over the past couple of years the tailgate event has become a really nice family event and we want it to continue as an Island tradition,” said BHS Football Boosters President Sean Winker.

The event will include hot dogs, hamburgers and entertainment — with performances by the BHS band and cheer squad. Fan gear and raffle basket tickets will be available for purchase. All ages are welcome.

Festivities will wind up in time for the Spartan kickoff at Memorial Stadium, Winker said.

Meal tickets are $10 (for adults) and $8 (kids 12 and younger). All event proceeds benefit Bainbridge Football Booster Club.

Admission to the game is separate. The cost to attend is $6 for adults, $1 for seniors (60 and older), $4 for students (or free with BHS ASB card), and free for children age 5 and younger.
