Washington State Ferries is advising drivers traveling through downtown Seattle this weekend, Friday, Feb. 28, through Sunday, March 2, should expect delays in the downtown area.

Long sections of Highway 99 will shut down for the inspection of the Alaskan Way Viaduct, road construction and the Hot Chocolate 15/5k road race.

Drivers should plan to use alternate routes through Seattle, including I-5, which will be free of construction closures this weekend.
