The Children’s Hospital Bargain Boutique is hosting “Be Part of the Cure” as part of its 50th anniversary on the island.

The event is planned for 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 at Grace Episcopal Church on Day Road.

Dr. Michael Jensen of Bainbridge Island, director of pediatric cancer research at Seattle Children’s, will be the keynote speaker, as well as local parents Allyson Brown and Rob Connelly.

A silent auction and paddle call will be held to raise funds for pediatric cancer research. Beverages and hors d’oeuvre will be served, along with local musical entertainment. The community is welcome as the boutique celebrates 50 years of raising funds for uncompensated care at Children’s.
