Three students from Bainbridge Island have been selected to attend a Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Seminar at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma.
Natalya Niehaus, a student from Bainbridge High, will join Tova Levine and Johanna Rosenboom from Eagle Harbor High School at the awards seminar, which runs through March 9 at the college.
The students are being sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island.
RYLA is a seminar geared to helping young people carry forward an exciting program of self-discovery.
The conference will consist of nationally renowned speakers who emphasize leadership, motivation and communication skills, as well as recreation and fellowship. Organizers said it should be a weekend to remember for all students attending.
This marks the 45th year of RYLA in Western Washington sponsored and organized by Rotarians. More than 4,500 students have had the opportunity to participate in this rewarding four-day leadership conference.
RYLA’s are designed for young adults with proven leadership ability and a commitment to community service. RYLA will help these students discover their potential and develop the skills needed to be a leader in their community, career and everyday life.
