Bainbridge Aquatic Masters Head Coach April Cheadle has been awarded the Speedo United States Masters Coach of the Year award.
This award is given to one coach each year who exemplifies the qualities of Masters swimming: inclusivity, athlete retention and participation, professionalism, and a love of swimming for all.
“This award is a huge honor, and I’m deeply humbled and thankful to my team, Bainbridge Aquatic Masters, and fellow coaches and leaders who nominated me,” Cheadle said.
In addition to the Coach of the Year, Cheadle also achieved a Level 4 United States Masters Swimming coaching status.
She is the first Level 4 coach in Washington state, and one of only 30 in the nation.
“I’m sincerely thankful to Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District for the opportunity to coach and develop my skills for our community,” Cheadle said.
