TUESDAY, OCT. 30

8:24 p.m. A 29-year-old Bremerton man was traveling north on Highway 305, approaching the Seabold Road intersection, when a deer ran across the road. The man was unable to stop in time and struck the animal. The man said he was not speeding, which was collaborated by a witness in the car behind him.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 31

2:37 p.m. A 60-inch-long teak bench was stolen from outside a downtown Winslow art gallery.

There are no suspects.

SUNDAY, NOV. 1

10:43 a.m. A jewelry store owner called police after finding the rear door of his business damaged, suspecting a failed attempted break-in.

Police arrived to find the door knob, deadbolt, frame and jamb were damaged, consistent with forced entry, though the man said there was no evidence anyone had actually been inside his store. Also, somebody had jammed something into the key hole to prevent a key from being inserted.
