SATURDAY, NOV. 10

9:44 p.m. A car went into a ravine on North Street.

The driver called a tow truck to get it out. He was not injured.

He told police he’d been coming around the corner when a raccoon ran out in front of his car, which he’d served to avoid.

The man’s license and insurance was valid, and he performed well on field sobriety tests.

The car was damaged, mostly on the driver’s side, where it had struck a tree.

A report was filed.

SUNDAY, NOV. 11

2:54 a.m. A 37-year-old Silverdale man was arrested for driving under the influence.

His black Toyota RAV4 was seen swerving over both the white and yellow lines and nearly hitting a guard rail on Highway 305 near Suquamish Way.

The man smelled strongly of alcohol and had red, watery eyes. He told police he’d been drinking earlier that night and performed poorly during field sobriety tests. He was arrested and booked into Kitsap County Jail with a $5,000 bail, having no history of DUI arrests.

His BAC was found to be .122.
