Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.
TUESDAY, JAN. 8
9:36 a.m. Police were called to a private home in response to an argument between a man and a woman.
The woman, 43, of Bainbridge, called 911 to report the fight, then said she was not able to speak freely and hung up. Shortly thereafter, her ex-boyfriend, 51, of Bainbridge, called to say the woman was at their home to retrieve her things and he would be more comfortable with a police officer there.
Police arrived to find the woman and a friend there to collect her things; she and the man having recently split up. He said he was concerned she was taking things that did not belong to her. The police explained to both of them that they were not there to determine what items should go with which party, but would remain standing by to ensure things were kept civil.
The woman agreed to only gather things she would need immediately, but took almost an hour getting her possessions collected. The man said he thought she was taking things he had paid for, but agreed to go through an attorney to settle the issue.
Both the man and woman agreed there had been no physical altercation between them.
No charges were filed.
