Utility crews made significant progress in restoring electricity overnight to homes and businesses on Bainbridge Island.

Still, hundreds of families spent the night without power following heavy snow on Friday and Saturday.

Puget Sound Energy said more than 17,800 customers remained without power in its Western Washington service area Sunday morning. A total of 365 individual PSE outages are still awaiting attention in Washington.

PSE said crews worked through Saturday night to assess damage, remove trees and debris, and restore power to customers impacted by the winter storm.

PSE said power has been restored to more than 118,000 customers, with approximately 22,000 customers still without power at 6 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10.

On Bainbridge, the outages were small and scattered on Sunday. People were reportedly without power near Hidden Cove, Seabold and South Beach.

More snow is expected in the coming days.

The National Weather Service office in Seattle has issued a winter storm watch for nearly all of Western Washington that will stretch from midday Monday through much of Tuesday.

Forecasters are predicting as much as 9 to 12 inches of snow; in the Seattle area, 4 to 8 inches of snow is possible.
