It was a rout from the start. The first 12 Spartan batters in the first inning all scored. Five consecutive runs scored on wild pitches.
Bainbridge ended the first inning up 15-0, and tacked on another run in the second.
Miranda Grogger pitched for the Spartans and earned her first win of the season.
Malia Peato went 2-for-2 at the plate, with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored.
Teammate Lillian McDonald was 1-for-1, with a double and two RBIs.
A game highlight for both teams: The reaction by Rainier Beach’s Tamia Griffin on a catch she made of a very high pop fly in centerfield as she collapsed on the field in joy and surprise.
