Our lovely wife and mother, Beatriz Martha Grigoni, passed away quietly at home on Easter Sunday, April 21, an ever so fitting day for the faithful Christian she was all of her life.
Beatriz was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, one of six sisters and three brothers, all of whom have maintained strong family ties with their siblings, nieces, and nephews on both sides of the border. She resided on Bainbridge Island for over 27 years, recently celebrating 43 years of marriage with her devoted husband Michael. She is also survived by daughter Cristina Middleton-Hall of Des Moines, Washington and son Michael
Remedios Grigoni, of Durham, North Carolina. She was blessed with five grandchildren: Gabriella, Violet, Van Middleton and Emilia and Isaiah (Si) Grigoni, an all-American family consisting of Mexican, Italian and Korean parentage. She fiercely loved all of them, holding each in a special place in her heart.
Beatriz’s family and friends meant the world to her. She touched many hearts in the community and beyond whose lives she impacted as an example of how to live less for ourselves and more for others. Surely, she is saying a prayer for us right now while relishing in the everlasting peace of God.
Services for Beatriz will include a memorial at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church on Friday, May 3rd at 10:30AM with interment at Port Blakely Cemetery. There will also be a memorial service at Island Church on Saturday, May 4th at 11:00AM with reception after.
In lieu of flowers, Beatriz’s family requests donations to the American Kidney Fund, http://www.kidneyfund.org
