It’s been a yo-yo postseason so far for the Bainbridge Spartans girls fastpitch softball team.
The Spartans began play in the Metro League Softball Tournament on Monday at the Southwest Athletic Complex in Seattle, and faced Ingraham in the opening game.
Bainbridge beat the Rams, 11-3.
Later in the day, BHS faced Holy Names Academy, and the Cougars clawed their way to a 7-3 win.
The loss sent the Spartans into a Tuesday matchup against Nathan Hale, and Bainbridge picked up a clutch win in a nailbiter, 8-7.
The Spartans were scheduled to face Cleveland last this week in a game to decide fifth and sixth place in the tourney.
The top nine teams in the Metro tourney advance to the SeaKing District
Tournament, which will also be played at the Southwest Athletic Complex from Monday, May 13 through Friday, May 17.
