THURSDAY, MAY 16

6:11 p.m. The report of a dispute between a Madrone Lane business owner and a 36-year-old street performer was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office as a possible case of reckless endangerment.

Police responded to a call of possible vehicular assault which culminated after a parking/trespassing dispute between the two men. After interviewing the business owner, performer and witnesses, the performer was trespassed from the businesses on Madrone Lane and advised a report was being set to the prosecutor’s office. The business owner was not injured and did not want the other man to go jail, though he told police the other man, who “looks like Charles Manson,” attempted to run him over with his van.

The performer claimed he’d been “aggressively” approached by the other man, who was carrying a spatula, and told he could not park in the small lot on Madrone Lane. He said he tried to talk to the man, but decided to leave before things got out of hand. He said he got into his van and tried to leave the parking lot, but the other man stepped in front of his vehicle. He said he pulled forward slightly and honked the horn, but absolutely did not hit the man.

Police told him if he returned to any of the businesses on Madrone Lane he would be arrested.
