A new dental clinic may be built on Madison Avenue just south of the roundabout at High School Road.
City officials have been reviewing plans for the Bainbridge Periodontics Clinic since early April. The two-story, wood-frame building would be constructed just north of Ihland Place Northeast, and a public meeting on the project is planned for 6 p.m. Thursday, June 27 in council chambers at city hall.
The clinic building would be multi-use, according to the application for the project. The dental clinic would be on the first floor, while two residential units would occupy the second floor. Both residential units would have two bedrooms, while the proposed building contains approximately 3,793 square feet of commercial space.
The neighborhood already has other mixed-use projects nearby, according to the developers of the clinic. Nearby land uses include a dental clinic, single-family homes, multi-family structures, a church and the Bainbridge Public Library.
Access to the clinic will be off of Ihland Trail from Madison Avenue.
The architects for the Bainbridge Periodontics Clinic are Coates Design Architects.
The clinic is planned for the property at 1129 Madison Ave. North, a parcel that totals .31 acres (13,504 square feet) in size.
Following the public meeting later this month, the project will be discussed at a future Design Review Board meeting before continuing on to the planning commission for a final review and recommendation.
The permit will then go to the city’s planning director for a decision.
