Eric Vanderbilt-Mathews and his All-Stars will perform a special free concert at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, featuring special guest Ranger Sciacca of Ranger and the Re-Arrangers.

Vanderbilt-Mathews is a Whidbey Island native who has earned national awards, including Outstanding Soloist at the Lionel Hampton Festival. His band will perform this year at Djangofest Northwest, the biggest gypsy jazz event in America. He plays clarinet and saxophone.

His All-Stars on piano, bass, and guitar hail from New York, Los Angeles and Seattle.

Together they blend the music of Django Reinhardt and Louis Armstrong with the freedom of modern improvised music.
