SATURDAY, NOV. 2

7:15 p.m. A 64-year-old Bainbridge Island woman called police to report a problem with her new tenant, a 32-year-old man.

The woman said she’d recently allowed the man to rent a room in the house where she lived, but told police she’d been having problems because he was messy, played loud music and disrespected her.

She told police that again that night the man had been playing loud music, yelling and throwing things around the house. Police asked if the man had broken anything, and the women said he had not, that he was “just making a mess.”

She said she’d tried to get the man to sign a paper saying he had to move out by the end of the month, but he would not sign it and said she could not make him move out because she “was just a little old lady,” according to the police report.

The woman told police the man was currently in his room, being quiet. They suggested she avoid him for the time being, which she agreed to do. Then, police suggested she contact the sheriff’s department’s civil unit for assistance with the eviction.
