SUNDAY, NOV. 10
8:13 a.m. Officers responded to a noise complaint about loud construction activities occurring on Sunday.
Upon arrival, police found crews working on the roof and interior of a partial completed structure. They met with the owner and explained that absent a special permit, no construction work was permitted on Sundays or holidays unless between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. inside a fully enclosed structure.
The man claimed to be unaware of the ordinance, apologized, and ordered work ceased immediately.
Police said that though packing up would undoubtedly create additional noise, that disruption would not be considered a violation as the next day was a holiday and the crew understandably did not want to leave tools and equipment unattended.
The man promised to familiarize himself with the rules so as to avoid future violations.
