Nearly 200 homes on Bainbridge Island lost power Friday afternoon as winter rains continue to soak the Puget Sound and a strong wind advisory from the National Weather Service remains in effect.

Puget Sound Energy is responding to two reported outages on the island.

The largest covers the neighborhoods in and around Tolo and Battle Point Park. Homes in the area lost power just after noon Friday.

PSE said 189 customers were impacted, and the outage was blamed on falling trees/vegetation.

The utility company expects to restore power to Tolo-Battle Point by 2:30 p.m. Friday.

A smaller outages — involving 10 homes — was reported in Port Madison at 12:16 p.m. Friday.

The cause is still under investigation, but PSE estimates electricity will be restored by 2:30 p.m. Friday.

PSE was responding to 31 outages across its Western Washington service area at 1 p.m. Jan. 31. A total of 3,102 customers were affected.

Three other outages were reported Friday afternoon in Kitsap County; in Hansville (46 PSE customers without power), Poulsbo near NE Gunderson Road (41 customers); and Silverdale (seven customers).
